Baby bottles

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical substance used in the production of plastics. Being essentially a synthetic analogue of estrogen (a female hormone), it is recognized as harmful to human health. It is dangerous because, when food is heated or stored for a long time, Bisphenol A migrates from the plastic into the food. In some countries, plastic baby bottles containing Bisphenol A are banned.

Plastic with Bisphenol A is more transparent and cheaper than its safe alternatives. One of the recommended materials for producing baby bottles is polypropylene. It is indicated by the number 5 and the letters PP in the recycling symbol (three arrows forming a triangle). Polypropylene bottles do not contain Bisphenol A, have a matte milky color, and are heat-resistant.
